Overview

Automate your IDX research, end to end

A hands-on introduction to workflow automation for Indonesian capital markets. Across five progressive modules and a capstone you connect n8n to live Sectors API data, shape the responses into decision-ready outputs, and schedule the whole pipeline to run without you.

Each module pairs a short concept walkthrough with an exercise you run on your own machine. No prior coding experience is required.

Learning objectives

What you leave knowing

  • Workflow Automation with Real IDX Data

The foundational building blocks of n8n — nodes, workflows, and triggers — applied directly to live Indonesian stock market data via the Sectors API.

  • From Raw API Response to Actionable Intelligence

How Sectors API responses are shaped, filtered, and routed through n8n's Set, IF, and Switch nodes to produce clean, decision-ready outputs from raw JSON.

  • End-to-End Automation with Low-Code Tools

Hands-on experience building a fully automated IDX stock intelligence system — from scheduled triggers and live screeners to morning digests delivered via Telegram, Gmail, or Google Sheets.

Syllabus

The Syllabus

01
Connecting to Live IDX Data

Setting up n8n and making the first live call to the Sectors API — understanding how workflow automation works and how to read the data it returns.

  • What n8n is and how nodes, workflows, and triggers work together
  • How REST APIs work: HTTP methods, endpoints, headers, and JSON responses
  • Storing the Sectors API key as a reusable Credential inside n8n
  • Reading and navigating nested JSON responses from the Sectors API
02
Filtering and Routing Stock Data

Shaping raw API responses into clean, decision-ready outputs — and applying fundamental filters to route IDX stocks based on financial criteria.

  • Set node and Edit Fields: selecting, renaming, and cleaning data fields
  • IF node: splitting data into pass/fail branches based on P/E ratio thresholds
  • Switch node: routing companies into multiple streams by sector or criteria
  • n8n expression syntax for accessing field values
03
Delivering Intelligence to Familiar Tools

Sending filtered IDX data to Google Sheets, Telegram, and Gmail — and scheduling workflows to run automatically without manual intervention.

  • Connecting output channels: Google Sheets, Telegram Bot, and Gmail
  • Dynamic message formatting with live data values using n8n expressions
  • Schedule Triggers and cron expressions for time-based automation
  • Activating workflows, monitoring execution logs, and basic error handling
04
Capstone: IDX Stock Intelligence System

Bringing everything together into one self-running system — a Daily Screener, Price Alert, and Morning Digest that operate fully automatically.

  • Daily Screener: fetching and filtering top companies by P/E ratio, market cap, and dividend yield
  • Price Alert: detecting intraday moves greater than 5% and triggering immediate notifications
  • Morning Digest: aggregating top movers and screener results into a formatted daily summary
  • All outputs logged simultaneously to Google Sheets for historical review

FAQ

Still deciding?

Anything not answered here, email hello@stochio.site — a person replies, usually the same day.

No. Everything is assembled visually in n8n — there is no code to write. If you can use a spreadsheet, you can follow every module.

Live on Zoom across two consecutive evenings, 18.30 to 21.00 (gmt+7) on both days. Both days are build-along — you follow on your own laptop and finish each module with the thing built.

There is a Day-1 Only ticket for exactly that. Day 2 builds on what you make in Day 1, so the full workshop is the better value if you can make both.

[RECORDING POLICY — CONFIRM]. Every worked file is sent to attendees afterwards either way.

Delivered in Bahasa Indonesia. Materials are labelled in both Indonesian and English so the files stay usable in a mixed team.

Yes. Private cohorts run on your own stack with the syllabus adjusted to your team. Email hello@stochio.site with your team size and we will send a plan.
